Diana L. Roman, DAOM L.Ac
Dr. Roman is a Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. She has extensive experience in all aspects of Traditional Chinese Medicine,
including Acupuncture, Herbology, Cupping, Moxibustion, Tui-na massage, Gusha, Detoxification, Weight Loss, Lifestyle and Nutritional
Counseling. Dr. Roman's passion extends to other healing modalities including Aromatherapy, Flower Essences, Homeopathics, Hypnotherapy,
and Pilates.
Diana's is among the few Acupuncturists in America that has received her clinical research Doctorate in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine,
and who specializes in: fertility, menopause, gynecological issues, Orthopedics, Pain Management, and Integrative Medicine.
She is also a member of the American Academy of Pain Management, American Acupuncture Council, American Association of Oriental Medicine,
and California State Oriental Medical Association. She writes scholarly papers and is politically active in the advancement of the Oriental
Medical field.
Dr. Roman graduated at the top of her class from Emperor College of Traditional Oriental Medicine ECTOM, where she earned a clinical research
doctorate in acupuncture and oriental medicine. She also graduated top of her class from Samra University of Oriental Medicine where she
earned a Master's Degree of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine. She focused her training in Gynecology, Internal Medicine, Orthopedics,
and Pain Management. To enhance her clinical education, Dr. Roman treated patients as an externship at Samaritan Hospital in Los Angeles and
at the Beijing International Acupuncture Training Center in China. She has also treated patient in a mentorship with Dr. Helliwell and Dr. Kaneen
right here at Advanced Women's Health Center.
A native of Southern California, her family is originally from Romania. She grew up speaking both Romanian and English and picked up Spanish
along the way. Always having an interest in complementary medicine from a very young age, it wasn't until her mother found holistic healing
(such as acupuncture and herbal medicine) to treat her undiagnosed endocrine and immune system disorders, Diana knew through her mother's
encouragement that holistic healing was her path. Determined to help heal a patient, Diana takes into account her patient's physical, emotional,
environmental and spiritual backgrounds. She provides a healing and caring environment where she encourages her patients to become active
participants in their healing process.
Dr. Roman believes in treating her patients entire body as opposed to chasing symptoms. This mindset has lead to overwhelming success with her
patients and their overall health and quality of life by getting to the route of the problem.
