Infertility Treatments and In-Vitro-Fertilization

Women who experience difficulty becoming pregnant now have a variety of options at their disposal. Most treatments involve oral medications, with some including artificial insemination. This will result in pregnancy a majority of the time, but some patients may ultimately require In-Vitro Fertilization, or" IVF". This is an advanced technique in which the egg is retrieved from the woman, then mixed with the sperm in an artificial environment. The resulting embryo is then placed back in the woman's' uterus to develop. This procedure requires a state-of-the-art laboratory, and a doctor specializing in advanced infertility medicine. The Advanced Women's Health Center is proud to announce that we've partnered with Dr. Omid Khorram , Professor of Infertility at UCLA - Harbor, to perform the IVF procedure in his facility at the UCLA campus. All fertility cycle monitoring and medications are still administered here in our Bakersfield office. This gives patients the option of IVF at a prestigious institution like UCLA Medical, with the added convenience of local monitoring and office visits.
